Barenaked Foods Sponsors Pro Boxer

Nathan 3

Nathan Dale is a professional boxer from Norwich who competes at light welterweight and holds an impressive undefeated record of 17 fights. He is also a former holder of the IBF World Youth belt.

Nathan entered the professional ranks with a strong amateur background, collecting a number of titles along the way. One of his proudest moments is representing England and achieving a gold medal in the multi-nations.

He is clear about his goals and exhibits high levels of determination, ambition and commitment – something he has in common with Barenaked Foods Managing Director, Ross Mendham. However to continue to develop his career, he needs to train smart and push his body to the absolute limits.

Unfortunately, Nathan has not competed for the last 13 months due to having surgery on his hand – although he has used his time wisely in the gym with trainer Graham Everett.

Nathan states that Barenaked Foods have helped him maintain his weight during his off period and has confirmed that he will have no concerns making championship weight with the backing of Ross and the team.

Barenaked Foods are looking forward to supporting Nathan in reaching his ultimate boxing potential!

EnigMedia Sponsors Norfolk Athlete

EnigMedia Marketing is delighted to announce that we are sponsoring Norfolk athlete Steven Barnes, who has been selected for the Great Britain Age Group Duathlon team.

Barnes race suit 2015Steven will be competing in this year’s ITU Duathlon World Championships in Australia in October after a successful summer of fund-raising. As an “amateur” athlete, Steven has had to pay for the trip as well as all the equipment he will need to compete – and it isn’t cheap!

With the support of friends, family and local businesses, Steven is thrilled to have reached his fund-raising target of £4000 and can’t wait to represent GB at the forthcoming prestigious event in Adelaide. He’s now the proud owner of a Boardman race bike, new trainers, fitness equipment (courtesy of Pilch Sports in Norwich and Tri Harder in Dereham) and a branded GBR race suit!

Steven says: ““I have been so overwhelmed by the kind support shown from my family (especially my wife for putting up with me!), friends, work colleagues and anonymous donators who have contributed to my cause either by cash donations, through my funding page or/and supporting my fund-raising events. Including helping to organise them! I would like to say a massive thank you to EnigMedia Marketing, Broom Boats and Breckland Mowers for their sponsorship, as without their backing my dream of competing for Great Britain was still in doubt. To now be able to say “I will be competing for Great Britain in the World Championships” instead of “I am hoping to” feels fantastic and a massive weight off my shoulders. I would never have been able to say that without everyone’s support – THANK YOU! Training is now in full swing and I will be keeping people updated on my progress via social media.”

We’re very excited to be an ongoing sponsor, alongside established Norfolk businesses Broom Boats and Breckland Mowers. We will be sharing Steven’s race updates for the 2015/16 season – including the big event in October (although the funding doesn’t stretch to a trip to Australia for us!)

Steven’s next Duathlon event will be held in Newmarket, Suffolk on 16th August 2015 – a key event for maintaining his training program and improving on his personal best performance. Why not go along and show your support?

Norfolk athlete qualifies for Great Britain Team!

4368367_1431542480.3079Already a keen runner, cyclist and football player, Steven Barnes competed in his first Duathlon in January 2015. By March, he completed the British Duathlon Championships (Run-Bike-Run) event – and qualified for the Great Britain Team!

Quite an achievement in itself, but then you realise just how much work Steven has put into his own training schedule and nutrition plan, with the majority of training being consumed by his 20 mile round cycle commute to work starting at 6am every day. His total weekly training is 130 miles on the bike and around 30 miles running (makes us feel out of breath just thinking about it!)

Steven says: “To have the chance to represent Great Britain is something I am extremely proud of, and have always dreamt of.  Just the thought of wearing the Red, White and Blue and competing against the world’s best athletes in this event sends shivers down my spine. It will certainly be my biggest achievement to date.”

The World Championships are taking place in October 2015 in Adelaide, Australia – although Steven receives NO funding whatsoever. He’s now looking to raise the £4000 needed to pay for travel and equipment and is asking local businesses for help with finance and promotion (sponsorship and advertising packages are available).

The 3 Peaks Challenge 2013: we know a man who can…..

Mad but true; our friend Mark Carruthers (he of top football blogs “Sing in the Cheap Seats” & “Over the Wall”) is doing the legendary Three Peaks Challenge in March 2013. He’s actually going to climb Mount Snowdon in Wales, Scafell in the Lakes and Ben Nevis in Scotland in three days…….. His aim (apart from showing off) is to raise money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Parkinson’s UK, both of which are causes close to his heart. He’s created a couple of Just Giving Pages so all you lovely generous folk can donate if you think it’s a worthy cause. I know we do, so we’ll be sponsoring & promoting him as much as possible!

Small as well as large donations all gratefully received via the Just Giving pages!

NUWFC end the season with a win and Celebrate in style.

We’re proud to support the ladies of Newcastle United Women’s Football Club, who’ve just been crowned Championship Winners for the 2011/12 season!

They receive very little financial support and are always keen to hear from sponsors so if you or someone you know would like to donate or help provide them with a new kit for next season, get in touch!
